A GROUP of friends from Soham are hoping that the sky is the limit for their fundraising as they prepare to leap out of a plane.
Gemma Beckett was so impressed when she carried out her first sky dive last year that she thought it would be a great idea to do it all again for charity, and she didn’t hesitate to sign up six other friends to take part.
The group are hoping to raise more than 2,000 for the Lisa Barnes Memorial Fund when they carry out the feat in Cambridge on August 18.
Gemma, who works at Chatterbox on Churchgate Street, told the Ely Standard: “I have done a sky dive for fun before but for everyone else it is going to be their first time, there are a few nerves but we are doing it for a good cause.
“It will be an amazing experience, we will be free falling for about a minute and then we there will be about 15 minutes of gliding back down to earth. I can’t wait to do it all again!”
Charity founder Robert Barnes, said: Although Gemma has Skydived before in Australia none of the others have, but they are all excited, she said it is a wonderful experience and I know they will all enjoy it.”
