A MAN who continued to punch his friend after beating him unconscious has been jailed for four months.

John Brown, of New Barns Avenue, Ely needed hospital treatment after he accused friend John McCallum of indecently touching his girlfriend.

McCallum, 49, of Back Lane, Great Cambourne, pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm and common assault on Mr Brown's girlfriend Anne Tobin.

He punched her and dragged her down stairs after she tried to make him stop assaulting her boyfriend.

Magistrates heard that McCallum denied touching Miss Tobin and was particularly sensitive to such allegations.
