A special event will be held at the Soham pavilion and recreation ground at the end of the month to mark 100 years since the end of the Great War.
The event, that is free to enter, will coincide with the 2018 Poppy Launch and will be held on Saturday, October 27 between 10am and 1pm.
A spokesman said: “Many people will be aware that 2018 is 100 years since the end of the Great War which needs to be remembered, along with the other conflicts that have occurred since.
“Wicken Coronation Brass Band will be performing along with Michael Anthony singing a selection of WWI songs. Refreshments will be available.
“There is also a sponsored ‘Poppy Run’, organised by the membership secretary Simon Whitworth, which will take a route around Soham.
You may also want to watch:
“The Soham WWI soldier and a nurse will carry the poppies on a stretcher to the war memorial where the unveiling of the ‘Poppy Sails’ by the Army and Police Cadets will take place.
“Each one of the poppies on the ‘sails’ represents one of the names on the war memorial.”
