A group of school mates shared stories on Sunday when they gathered for their first class reunion since they went their separate ways 51 years ago.
Twenty-three out of the 32 former Soham Village College pupils who formed part of the A stream came from as far as Devon and Chester for the reunion at The Fox in Burwell.
Classmates came from as far as Devon and Chester to be a part of the joyous occasion.
They joined the college when it opened in 1958 under headmaster Mr S W Percival and stayed together until 1963.
Organiser Jenn Page said she was thrilled with the turnout and plans are in place to put on another reunion next year.
She said: “Three of us meet up near Stretham and one day we were having coffee when I said how about a reunion.
“Quite a few of us still lived in the Soham area. None of us were on social media so tracking down everyone else took some detective work. It was a lot of fun.
“We were amazed by the response. Everybody was so keen. Maybe it’s because we were the first year of Soham Village College and we had brilliant teachers. Everyone said what a great time they had at school.”
