THE first meeting of the new club year was held in the village hall on April 21. Subscriptions remain at £12 and the visitor's fee at £2.50. The president introduced the new chairman, Pam Hayes and presented her with her badge of office. Elizabeth Miller (vice chairman) Pam Sole (secretary) and Joyce Walters (treasurer) also received their badges.
Mrs Hayes welcomed new members and visitors before introducing area demonstrator Brenda Tubb, from Attleborough. Her title was 'challenges' and those were events through her life, depicted with stunning designs using harmonising colours and more unusual plant material. Her humour and amusing tales added to the enjoyment of the evening. A vote of thanks was given by Rosie Jeffries.
Members were asked to bring surplus plants to the next meeting on May 19 to sell and to raise money for the club charity (to be announced). Places are still available for the workshop to be held on May 20.
