GRACE Bent, from Ely, was the demonstrator for the evening of May 19 at the monthly meeting at the village Hall. Her title was 'here comes the bride' and there followed a stream of beautiful and immaculate arrangements with a wedding theme.

The first arrangement was the bridal bouquet, which was made up of stunning pink aqua roses. The bouquet was then surrounded with curled aspidistra leaves. A hand tied bouquet was made up for the mother of the bride with lilies, alstromeria and green chrysanthemums. The technique used was shown to great effect, giving members the opportunity to ask questions on the various skills shown. The marquee/reception flowers were arranged in a stone urn and the colour scheme was followed through from the previous bouquet. Table and buffet table arrangements were then arranged using arum lilies and unusual foliage. The last arrangement was completed with the traditional gypsophelia and white freesias creating a stunning finale for the church candle holder. Mrs Bent was thanked for a very enjoyable and informative evening by Alayne Saville.
