Firefighters tackle village blaze

Firefighters battled for more than two hours to put out a blaze in Wardy Hill, near Coveney, on Thursday.
Crews from Chatteris and Soham were called to The Green shortly about 7.30pm to find a building measuring 100sqm on fire.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue said: “Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and a jet. Firefighters cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan. They returned to their stations by 10pm.”
The cause of the fire was accidental.
