Firefighters from Ely’s fire station spent the morning teaching the little ones Fire all about life as a firefighter.

Pupils were given the chance to look inside a fire engine, listening to the siren, try on helmets and even have a go at squirting the hose.

Manager Zoe Corley said: “We have all had a wonderful morning and are really grateful to Ely fire service for visiting us – they were fantastic.

“They talked to us all about fire safety, and the children had a great time exploring the inside of the fire engine and measuring how long the hose was.

“It was a brilliant end to our 999 emergency services week in which we also had a visit from a local doctor.”
