Firefighters cut motorist free following collision

A car ended up in a ditch following a collision in Wentworth.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the collision in Church Road, Wentworth, just after 10.30am on Wednesday.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, which also attended, said: “Firefighters arrived to find a car in a ditch.

“Using specialist cutting equipment, they released one male casualty who was then taken to hospital by ambulance.

“One crew from Ely and one crew from Chatteris attended and returned to their stations by 12.05pm.”
