THE fire brigade had to be called to release a van trapped under Ely Railway Bridge, city magistrates heard on Thursday.
"The driver failed to see flashing warning signs indicating height restriction and attempted to continue under the railway bridge," said prosecutor Mara Maciejowski.
"His vehicle became wedged and required fire service removal."
Driver Perparim Emini, 28, of Smethwick, admitted driving without due care and attention on June 30. He was fined £75 with £35 costs and five points were endorsed on his licence.
