A flat went up in flames in Littleport late on Wednesday night.

Firefighters from Littleport and Ely were called to a property in Parsons Lane at about 11.30pm following reports that a flat had caught fire.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a flat. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished it using a hose reel and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.”

Crews remained at the scene until almost 2am. There were no reports of any injuries.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
