Pupils at Witchford Village College were given the lowdown on water safety thanks to a visit from the Ely Fire and Rescue crew.
Firefighters talked to Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 pupils and showed them a presentation called ‘Remember Rony,’ which is being shown at schools across Cambridgeshire in an attempt to protect young people from drowning in open water.
The campaign started after Huntingdon teenager Rony John died whilst playing with friends in the River Ouse in 2014.
