FIRE-FIGHTERS soaped up and hosed down in Ely on Thursday to raise money for local charity The Brain Injury Trust.
Fire-fighters' and other volunteers used their car washing skills to raise more than £230 for the unit, which is based at Fen House on Lynn Road. Specialist staff from Fen House also turned up on the day to help out.
The Brain Injury Trust unit was opened in 2005. It offers a relaxed and therapeutic setting for East Anglian residents who have both long and shorter term care needs, following acquired brain injuries.
