MORE than 40 tons of hay caught fire at a farm in Wicken on Sunday.
The blaze broke out at about 1am at a farm on Stretham Road, with two fire crews from nearby Soham rushed to the scene.
The farmer helped create a fire break between some of the bales using his machinery while crews battled to get the blaze under control.
Fire-fighters remained on scene for more than seven hours, before finally leaving the scene at about 8.10am.
An investigation revealed that the fire started accidentally.
