Around 500 tonnes of straw and 30 metres of railway sleepers were found alight close to animal farm sheds in Stretham on Friday evening.

Teams from Ely, Cottenham and Cambridge were called to Cambridge Road at around 1.22pm and used two hose reels to extinguish the blaze.

The last crew returned to their station by 1.22pm the next day.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
