A FATHER who kicked and broke a door while visiting his former partner in Littleport has been fined 250.
Gerald O’Dwyer, 37, of Cricketer’s Way, Chatteris, was also ordered to pay 85 costs and a 15 surcharge by Ely magistrates.
The court heard that O’Dwyer and Kelly Fuller had split up last September, but O’Dwyer went to her home to see their children on August 6.
During an argument, O’Dwyer threw his former partner’s glasses on the floor, and he kicked the door, causing a large crack.
Mitigating, Gill McGivern said both parties had been drinking. “He accepts that when his partner slammed the door, he became cross and kicked the door, he accepts it was reckless behaviour.”
