An independent jewellers is set to close its doors later this month.
Fisher and Co Watchmakers and Jewellers, based in Buttermarket, Ely, has been sold and will cease trading in the city on October 20.
The business is owned and run by Howard Zelley and his family and has been in Ely since the 1950s. Mr Zelley will continue to manage the family’s other jewellery shop, FJ Zelley, in St Giles Street, Norwich.
The premises have been purchased by businessman Jason Watson, who also owns the Tea for Tea café, which neighbours the jewellers.
