Photographer Mike Rouse was out and about over the weekend as families stayed in the city instead of braving the bank holiday traffic.

Whilst roads towards Hunstanton and Cromer were busy until late last night, with thousands of children and their parents enjoying the scorching weather, many opted for a walk alongside Ely river.

Mike Rouse said on Monday: “Busy at the Ely river today - just like the seaside, only no traffic jams to get there.”

He also visited Ely Country Park where dozens of families were making the most of the sunshine with afternoon picnics.

Mr Rouse said on Twitter yesterday: “Ely Country Park at its best today and a lot of people just enjoying a walk.”
