Expansion plans for primary school in Littleport

A PRIMARY school will expand by up to 50 per cent to cope with the growth in population.
Five buildings will be added to Millfield Primary School, in Littleport, to take the capacity from 280 to 420.
The county council aims to introduce the buildings in time for the start of the school year in 2014.
Adrian Loades, the council’s director of children’s services, said: “The expansion will be achieved by adding five new classrooms to the existing school buildings.
“The new accommodation will be funded through the county council’s capital programme.
“The current capacity of the school is 280 and the proposed capacity will be 420.
The current admission number is 40 and the proposed admission number will be 60.”
The number of children registered at the school is 260.
