Fast food outlet Subway has entered plans to move into the vacant shop unit in Ely – ending months of speculation.

The multi-national chain – which specialises in sandwiches – is to move into the recently vacated Lloydspharmacy premises in High Street.

Lloyds completed its moved into St Mary’s GP surgery, in St Mary’s Street, last week.

The restaurant, expected to create more than five jobs, will share the unit with convenience chain Spar.
