Enter Our Sports Awards
“The aim of the awards is not only to recognise sporting achievement in East Cambridgeshire but also to encourage and support future sports men and women who may have ambitions in the national sporting arena.”
HE Ely Standard has launched its third Sports Awards and it is time to get your entries in. Over the next few weeks we will provide details of all the awards and include information on how you can enter a particular category.
Our main sponsor is Cambridgeshire County Council and the awards ceremony will be held at the Brook House Hotel in Soham on December 7.
Sports editor Daniel Mansfield said: “The aim of the awards is not only to recognise sporting achievement in East Cambridgeshire but also to encourage and support future sports men and women who may have ambitions in the national sporting arena or even have their sights set on the 2012 Olympics.
“We also have awards to recognise all the people who work behind the scenes and make it possible for sports clubs to run efficiently and sometimes even function financially. We would love to receive nominations from green keepers and stewards and even the mums who wash all those dirty kits, in fact, all those hard working individuals who turn out in all weathers to ensure other people can take part and compete in sport.”
