Sue Farrow says she’s fed up seeing her gnomes and garden ornaments stolen from her doorstep and has appealed to the culprit to stop.

She said that as many as seven of her ornaments have been stolen from her garden, in Morley Drive, Ely, in the last few months and she has had to stop buying them as a result.

Sue, 39, suffers from fibromyalgia – a condition that leaves suffers with joint and muscle pain, extreme fatigue, headaches and insomnia.

The illness means she often requires the help of her crutch or wheelchair to get out of bed or out of a chair and believes she has been targeted because the culprit knows about her condition.

“I feel like I am being watched and it’s very unsettling,” she said.

“I am a lover of sheep and gnomes and anything colourful to put in my front garden as I don’t have a back garden and, because my property is looked after by a maintenance company, we are not allowed to dig up the garden and plant anything.

“Only since having these to cheer me up because I am very slow and can be quite ill, have I noticed that they have started to go missing from my door step and garden.

“Whether I am in the house or I away at the weekend, every time I replace them someone steals them.”

The latest incident occurred last weekend and, at the end of her tether, she contacted police.

“It is making my life a misery,” she said. “All the other houses around me have ornaments and tubs but they pick on me.”
