Ely Watercolour Workshop members donate £250 to British Heart Foundation

Members of Ely Watercolour Workshop presented a cheque for £250 to the British Heart Foundation in Ely.
The money was raised from the group’s last two exhibitions, which were held in the spring and autumn.
Their next exhibition, which runs from Saturday 21 to Sunday 29 October in the Blue Room of the Almonry, will raise money for Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT). Entry is free but there will be a jar for donations.
On show will be original hand-painted watercolour paintings and cards.
Sarah Ruff, chairman of EWW for 18 years, said: “This is an opportunity to see what our local group produces and perhaps win a ‘Tea for Two’ prize for picking your favourite painting.
“There is always a wide variety of sizes and styles on show, reflecting the different artists in our group.
“There is also a fabulous selection of hand painted cards. All the artwork is for sale at very reasonable prices and can be taken away at the time of purchase.
“The Almonry garden is a lovely setting from which to view Ely Cathedral, so come in and have a look.
“Members of the group will be stewarding throughout the exhibition week and will be happy to talk to you if you have any questions or would like to learn more about the group.”
The EWW is a group of local artists and has been running for over 22 years. They meet every Tuesday evening at Ely College, when they go outside and paint in and around Ely.
