ON Sunday, 12 members of Ely Walking Group, led by Dave Kirby, visited the ancient village of Ashdon (Essex).

Ten miles were covered passing the site of the old pest house the osier beds on to Langley Wood to see the bluebells.

We climbed once again to the old post windmill, built in 1757 and back to the Rose and Crown for a much needed pint. The afternoon was a short circular walk via the guild hall, followed by afternoon tea at the village museum. Two new members said how much they had enjoyed the day.
