TEENAGER Samuel Webber was jailed for six weeks after admitting he failed to turn up for unpaid work sessions.
Webber, 19, of Holly Walk, Ely, was given an eight-week suspended sentence back in February for a public order offence; at that time he was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work.
A further 68 hours of work was added in August when he admitted breaching an order; and this week he admitted missing work on October 8 and 15.
After hearing that Webber had completed 123 hours of work, city magistrates decided to reduce the length of the sentence.
Sending Webber to jail for six weeks, presiding magistrate Janet South told him: "It is quite obvious you have no respect whatsoever for court orders, so we are going to activate the custodial sentence.
