Around 300 bras have been dropped in to the boutique Something Special in just three weeks following a plea for people to help.

The idea came from hairdresser Amanda Harvey who aims to gather 7,000 bras to raise 31,000.

The money will be split between a breast cancer charity and a prostate cancer charity.

Shop owner Beverley McPherson said: “We’ve had a poster in the shop window and in less thana month we have around 300 bras. It is unbelievable how many have been dropped in.

“Amanda also has other drop off points like banks and shops.

“It is a big challenge but if the last three weeks is anything to go by then she is doing really well.”

Once the bras are gathered in they will be weighed in and money paid to charity and the bras then shopped off to third world countries.
