New SE Cambs MP Lucy Frazer was the guest speaker at King’s Ely’s annual prize giving ceremony in Ely Cathedral.
Hundreds of students, teachers, parents and guests heard Mrs Frazer’s speech on how to ‘build failure into the path to success’.
Principal of King’s Ely, Sue Freestone, said: “We’ve worked hard, this year, to make the democratic process real and immediate for our students. All pupils from Year 3 upwards heard the arguments from their own student candidates and all had a right to vote in our own mock elections.
“We’ve been really pleased to welcome all of our parliamentary candidates to the school over the past few months. You’d find it quite hard to encounter a King’s Ely student who doesn’t have a view about who should be running the country.”
