ELY Runner John Crisp is marathon-mad. Having completed no less than 11 26-mile runs, he is off to Berlin on September 28 to raise money for a cause close to his heart.
"It has been a sad couple of years," he told the Ely Standard. "I lost my mum suddenly to lung cancer and in the last couple of weeks my wife's nan passed away from this horrible disease. This is why this marathon is so special to me as I am running in their memory."
Mr Crisp will be running to raise money for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. The popular Record Breakers presenter died from lung cancer after spending his final year fundraising for his own charity, which continues to work towards defeating lung cancer through education.
