Ely Rotary Club presented its Rotary Youth Leadership Award at an event last week.

Emma Sims of Whiting and Partners was given two certificates for her proven record of personal and leadership development for young people.

She took part in the Rotary District 1080 week long residential course at Grafham Water Centre, where she and 48 other young people were placed in a challenging environment.

At the event Emma spoke to the club about how the course had given her more confidence and had, at times, taken her out of her ‘comfort zone’, but that she had thoroughly enjoyed her time.

Robin Wraight, the district RYLA organiser, from the Rotary Club of Ipswich Wolsey, presented Emma with two certificates, one for attendance and one for continuing professional development.
