MIKE Axford has been named as the new president of the Ely Rotary Club. He is pictured here wearing the new chain of office handed over by Keith Butterworth.
The annual change of president took place at the group's weekly luncheon meeting at the Beet Club on July 5.
The club has helped to organised regular events such as Aquafest, the annual barbecue, the Christmas collection, Kids Out and the Rotary international cheese and wine Sunday.
Mike has been a member since 1997. He says he is keen to increase membership this year as well as continuing to support those who need financial help as well as more general support.
Annual charity events will continue to be Aquafest and the Christmas collection, a new sleigh is currently being built by members.
