Archant

Twenty older guests enjoyed a holiday at home over three days at Ely Methodist Church without even having to open a suitcase.

Each day began with refreshments before guests were able to participate in a number of different activities including glass painting, decoupage, flower arranging and card making amongst other crafts.

Carpet bowls, dominoes, bagatelle and other games also featured throughout the event.

Teresa Ely, of Ely Methodist Church, said: “The buzz of conversation only ceased when the food appeared - a two course lunch was enjoyed each day by volunteers and guests together.

“Different entertainment such as a quiz, audio visual presentation featuring views of the local area, and an afternoon of songs from the shows completed the programme before tea and cake and a reflection closed the day.

“This was the first Holiday at Home to be held at the church; requests have already been made for the next one.”
