DRINK-driver Trevor Green gave a breath test reading almost double the legal alcohol limit after his car was stopped in Ely city centre.
Green, 53, was behind the wheel of a Fiat Panda car when police spoke to him in Broad Street on September 22, and smelled drink on his breath.
Green, of Windmill Close, Ely, failed a breathalyser, and later gave a test reading of 69 mcgs of alcohol in 100 mls of breath, when the legal limit is 35 mcgs.
After admitting a charge of drink-driving, and handing character references into city magistrates on Thursday, Green was banned from driving for 17 months. He was fined �100 and must pay �85 costs and a �15 surcharge.
