AN Ely man who previously admitted committing an offence of affray during an alleged road rage incident was allowed to change his plea this week.

Gary Porter came back before city magistrates on Thursday, when he vacated his original plea and denied committing the offence against Emma Vickery in Ely on September 10.

This time the court declined jurisdiction, and Porter will face trial at Cambridge Crown Court.

The case was adjourned for six weeks for committal papers to be prepared, and 46-year-old Porter, of Windmill Close, was given unconditional bail.

*Last month Porter had been committed for sentence at Cambridge Crown Court.
