At the October meeting of Ely Inner Wheel, Steve Price from the Cambridgeshire Shrievalty Trust, also known as The Bobby Scheme, showed members the different lock, alarms and general security devices to help older people in their own homes.
Especially vulnerable are handbags. We were shown how easy it is for burglars to lift handbags so easily without the owners realizing it had happened. Members were able to buy items including hand bag alarms, secret pockets and pens for marking items in the home to be seen only with an ultra violet light.
The next Inner Wheel meeting will take place on November 22 at the Old Dispensary at 7pm where a fish and chip supper will be held in aid of the Christmas charity Home Start.
