The shops in Ely High Street Passage hosted their second street party today - and what a success it was.
Organised by the independent retailers who work there, the free party featured live music, storytelling sessions, sewing demonstrations, taster massage sessions, face painting, ice creams and a visit from Miss Cambridgeshire.
The party, organised by Burrow’s Bookshop, Artichoke Ely, PositivEly Treated, The Treasure Chest, Sew Much To Do, Age Concern and Uclassy, was held to thank regular customers and to encourage new ones to visit High Street Passage.
Sue Harrison, of Burrow’s Bookshop, said: “It went really, really well – it’s still going on actually, until about 6pm.
“We’ve had loads of people through and the weather’s been gorgeous which has really helped.
“It’s been really lovely day, everybody’s had a great time. There’s been face painting, live music, a raffle and people have been dancing in the street so hopefully we’ve raised some money for the charity Beauty With A Purpose.
