Ely Hero Awards 2018: Time to get your nominations in

There’s two weeks left to nominate your Ely Hero for 2018 – and residents are being urged to get their neighbours, teachers and community members recognised.

Organisers say they have already had plenty of ‘heart-warming’ nominations for the event which will be held at The Maltings in June.

In the spotlight this week is Alan Wisbeach, who has been nominated for the Most Amazing Professional award.

His nominator said: “Alan is the fastest painter and decorator I’ve ever seen, and does good work. I’ve seen him actually run up a ladder to get working. I think he’s great!”

Naomi Sherwood, business development leader at Metro Rod, said: “If you have been thinking about nominating someone, please don’t delay and don’t let them go unnoticed. With less than two weeks to go, now is the time to nominate your hero!

“We have received some wonderfully heart-warming nominations from the community, there are some incredible people who touch the lives of many in such special ways and we can’t wait to shine a light on them at the Award Ceremony in June”

Nominations can be made via the website at www.elyheroawards.org.uk.
