Hundreds of children packed the school hall at Ely College this morning as it hosted an annual careers day.
Organised by The Ely Schools Partnership - a group of 12 schools from Ely, Littleport and Little Downham, children from Year 5 and 8 got the chance to meet employers and talk about possible careers.
Representatives from Enterprise East Cambridgeshire, Ryal Air Force, G’s Fresh, Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Cambridge Regional College were on hand to explain to students what is involved in their job.
The Mayor of Ely, Councillor Richard Hobbs, attended and said: “It was lovely to see so many enthusiastic youngsters finding out about possible careers and what they need to do to realise their dreams.
“Congratulations to the organisers and all who took stands to engage with our young people.”
Richard Spencer, principal of Ely College, said: “Last year’s event proved to be a great success and our students commented on how useful they found it and how it prompted them to start thinking about their career aspirations early on.”
