President, Yvonne Dockerill, welcomed everyone to the July meeting including two new members Fleur and Vala. During the business agenda Joan Bullman, our delegate at the AGM in Cardiff, gave a detailed account of the day, after which we settled down to enjoy our speakers. Organised by Peter Heald and presented by Hans Fresco and Janet Smith, our members enjoyed a lovely evening on Fenprobe, the Talking Newspaper. It was rewarding to hear about the dedication and commitment the speakers and volunteers had and how successful Fenprobe is. Afterwards there were refreshments and the draw and competition for a touch and feel picture was won by Helena. Members were then given the opportunity to visit the Fenprobe offices and were able to see the benefits of the facility for the deaf and partially deaf in the area. Our next meeting is Monday August 14 at the Old Dispensary, St Mary's Street and is an indoor garden party and members are asked to dress up in garden party attire, eg hats and gloves. All visitors are welcome.
