It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and there’s no better way to get in the festive spirit than taking part in Ely’s best dressed window competition.

The theme this year is ‘Christmases Past’ and participants can reflect Christmas from any era such as the 1960s, World Wars, Victorian or Dickensian.

The winner will be awarded the ‘City of Ely Council Best Dressed Window Competition’ shield that they can keep and display for the next year.

The competition run by City of Ely Council will see windows judged the week commencing November 27 and the winner will be announced at the Christmas lights switch on November 30.

For any further information or if you would like to register to say you are dressing your window contact Sarah Jay, City of Ely Council, Sessions House, Lynn Road, Ely, CB7 4EG. Call 01353 661047 or email sarah.jay@cityofelycouncil.org.uk

It is not essential that you register, as judges will also be touring the city centre.

The most exquisite and extravagant displays are called for to brighten up the winter nights!
