This is the full programme for the 2018 Ely Christmas Lights Switch-On, which takes place on Friday November 30 and is organised by the City of Ely Council.

High Street, Fore Hill, Market Place and part of Brays Lane will be closed to traffic between 5.30am and 10.30pm.

BBC Radio Cambridgshire will be live from Ely Market Place from 3pm and fair rides, food vendors and event stalls all open at the same time.

Father Christmas and KD’s Jack & The Beanstalk travels through Ely on horsedrawn carriage from Barton Road Car Park at 4.17pm before the Santa’s grotto on Fore Hill opens at 5pm.

There will then be live acts on stage from 4.30-7.55pm with the lights officially turned on at 6.45pm.

Other highlights include Frozen LIVE at 4.35, Octagon Dance Studio at 4.55pm, Nikki Dine-Hart at 5.20pm and Gary Goodmaze performing a Freddie Mercury tribute at 5.55pm.

After the big switch-on at 6.45pm, it’s time for Simply Jackson to perform before Anneli at 7.35pm. The event ends at 8.30pm.
