A man arrested and charged with raping a woman in the grounds of Ely Cathedral entered a not guilty plea when he appeared before a judge at Cambridge Crown Court.
Kevin Forkan, 44, of Kiltimagh, County Mayo in the Republic of Ireland, will now stand trial.
He has been released on bail ahead of the trial that is expected to start sometime in February.
Forkan faces two counts of rape and a third count of attempted rape: he originally appeared before magistrates in Peterborough before the case was switched to the crown court.
The assaults are all alleged to have happen in the early hours of Monday August 6.
