ELY Cathedral got an extra spring clean, when around 50 members of Ely’s 2nd scout group spent an evening working hard to make the building gleam.
Scouts swept the tower steps, while cubs and beavers swept the aisles, dusted some pews and cleaned the brasses.
The clean up was undertaken by the youngsters as part of Scout Community Week - the up to date version of Scout Job Week or even Bob-A-Job if you go back further!
The Acting Dean of the cathedral, Canon David Pritchard was there to see the boys and girls spruce up the building, and thanked them for all their hard work.
Chris Ward from Cambridgeshire scouts said: “The youngsters really enjoyed their time in the cathedral, and they worked really hard to show their commitment to the community.”
