Ely's team made a great start to their campaign in the premier division of the Cambridge & District League at the start of the new season.

Attempting to regain the title that they last held three seasons ago, they overwhelmed the newly promoted Saffron Walden team by taking 19 of the 20 victory points at stake.

The December competition for the club's handicap cup was won by Alexandra and Malcolm McBryde. The handicap for this competition was generated from all the club duplicate competitions held since the cup was last played for in June.
