An Ely B&B has been given a prestigious Rose Award by Visit England to recognise it is one of 100 across the country that gives the warmest of welcomes.
Daisy Cottage is owned by Liz Harmer, who has worked at the Department for International Development for more than 30 years, and is currently posted in their Mozambique office.
While overseas she decided to use her Ely cottage as a B&B.
Sun Smith, the manager of Daisy Cottage, has more than 15 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, including her own guest house in the Caribbean and co-owning a small café in Canada.
The Visit England awards are designed to showcase accommodation providers where the owners, management and employees provide incredible experiences for their customers, irrespective of their star rating, style or type of accommodation.
This year’s awards celebrate 100 accommodation providers from across the country.
Pam Foden, Visit England head of industry development, said: “The sheer number of accommodation providers recognised for going the extra mile in this year’s awards demonstrates the outstanding quality of service and innovation of products on offer to visitors.”
