Ely actor Nicholas Limm, will be touring the UK this summer after successfully auditioning to play the part of Lady Capulet in the Lord Chamberlain's Men's production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
The production offers audiences the opportunity to see the world’s greatest love story in the way the Bard first envisioned them: with an all-male cast, traditional costume and Elizabethan song and dance.
In this tale of two feuding families in Verona, two young lovers, driven by youthful passion and blind love, enter a forbidden affair. Faced with banishment and separation, the two youngsters hatch a drastic plan with terrible consequences. Rehearsals start next week.
The tour starts in Ely on June 10 when the historic Old Palace gardens will be transformed into an open air theatre. Spectators can bring along a picnic, sit back and relax and let the cast whisk them away to fair Verona.
Nick, King’s Ely’s actor in residence, said: “I am very much looking forward to starting our tour here at King’s. It will be great to perform in a place I’ve grown very fond of and will hopefully bring Shakespeare to a young, eager audience.”
In his role as actor in residence at King’s, Nick assists with the practical drama lessons and school productions, delivering a professional insight into the craft of acting and its practical application while offering students a role model who can demonstrate the level of discipline and dedication essential to the profession.
Tickets to the open-air production at 7.30pm on June 10 cost £12.50 for adults and £10 for children and can be purchased through the box office on 01353 653931 or email@example.com
