NEW chairman of Ely 41 Club Keith Dolby will be able to walk to meetings in the Almonry Restaurant as he lives in the city. That is a big change from the way his predecessor Martin Elder got to meetings. Surely the most travelled 41 Club chairman in the country, Martin had to make two car trips and an aeroplane journey each way. Not long after he became chairman, Martin and his wife Margaret moved from Witchford to Culbokie, Ross-shire in their native Scotland. Before giving up office at the annual meeting Martin inducted two new members to the Ely club; Trevor See of Stretham and Rod Barker of Isleham.

Other officers elected were: vice-chairman, Nigel Davies; secretary, Jim Gilchrist; assistant secretary, Roger Painter; treasurer, Dave Pasek; programme secretary, Brian Hayes.

INFO: Any past round tabler who is interested in joining the club should contact the secretary on Ely 01353 614762 or e-mail gilchrist@ntlworld.com. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month.
