EAST Cambridgeshire will avoid the worst of the snow that is predicted to blanket the country in the next 48 hours.
Up to 10cm of snow is expected to hit from Tuesday (Dec 29) across central England but only the far west of Cambridgeshire is expected to see any significant snowfall.
News of the fresh deluge of snow had sparked fears of a return to the sort of travel conditions that caused headaches for hundreds of people as snow and ice hampered driving and causing scores of accidents.
The MET office has said though, that East Cambridgeshire will have only a scattering of rain and sleet with temperatures expected to remain at around 3-4 degrees centigrade.
