A DYING man appeared before Ely magistrates on Thursday, when he admitted a string of motoring offences.
Gary Case told the court he was facing a terminal illness, and had no idea how much longer he had to live.
Case, 36, of Soham Road, Stuntney, admitted driving without insurance, a licence or an MoT certificate on September 19 last year.
The learner driver was behind the wheel of a J-registered Mercedes when police spoke to him in St John's Road at Ely, said prosecutor Francesca Devine.
He claimed to have driving documents, but failed to produce them.
"I had come out of hospital to get my benefit," the emphysema sufferer explained to the court. "I had no money."
Case was fined £75 with £35 costs and six points were endorsed on his licence.
