DRUNKEN Ely sisters, Anita Webber and Victoria Baker, dragged a Littleport pub landlady from behind the bar, kicking and hitting her in an unprovoked attack.

Customers at The Crown pub had to step in to pull off the sisters who left Amanda Hunter with injuries to her ear and jaw and loose teeth.

Now the two sisters, both mothers, have been banned from every pub in Littleport.

After the attack happened on July 19 Ms Hunter felt vulnerable behind the bar fearing the sisters would return, Ely magistrates were told on Thursday.

The court heard that Ms Hunter was assaulted after a row broke out over returning dirty glasses to the bar.

The sisters had been leaving the glasses in a bucket reserved for cigarette butts and Ms Hunter refused to serve further drinks until they were returned.

Baker and Webber launched at Ms Hunter tearing at her clothes and underwear, kicking her in the side and hitting her in the jaw.

Prosecuting Yetunde Fawehinmi said: "She did not retaliate. She doesn't believe this is totally over and she feels vulnerable because of the job she is doing."

Webber, 37, who has a previous conviction for being drunk and disorderly, and heavily tattooed Baker, 34, admitted assault and told the court they had lost their jobs as a result of the attack.

"This shouldn't have happened," said Webber, of High Street, Ely. "It was something which got out of hand."

Webber and Baker, of Churchill Close, Ely were banned from entering Littleport's three pubs over the next two years and ordered to carry out 60 hours community work.

They were also ordered to pay £100 each in compensation to Ms Hunter and £75 each court costs.
