A DRUNK who ignored a police officer's instructions to keep out of Market Street in Ely for 48 hours could be facing jail.
Robert Seymour was issued with a notice to leave the area at 4.30pm on June 16, and was taken home. But three hours police found him back in the same street, having an abusive argument with a woman.
At Ely courthouse on Thursday, 37-year-old Seymour, of Merlin Drive, Ely, admitted failing to comply with directions given by a police officer in uniform, a charge brought under the terms of the Violent Crime Reduction Act of 2006.
Seymour, 37, of Merlin Drive, Ely, also admitted using threatening or disorderly behaviour on June 16, and using racially aggravated threatening behaviour towards a member of staff at the Spar store in Ely on June 10.
On Thursday the court adjourned sentencing until July 30, for a pre-sentence report to be prepared, and magistrates warned that a prison sentence would be considered. He was given conditional bail.
